Good morning, Bev. Like janbolla@yahoo.com, I too have had a problem with only a partial posting of a chatboard message and another not "taking" at all. (Am letting you know this so you can develop your skills in "tech support"... In the interim, am awaiting a response from Xanga.) Seriously, Bev, I enjoy reading your progress notes, all your "doings", and catching glimpses of such wonderful people and events in your life. As an aside, just want you to know that the food references are having a positive effect while I'm dieting because your vivid descriptions help me enjoy the goodies vicariously without adding calories. Good job... Hope chemo goes well. You will remain ever in my thoughts and prayers. If you can spare a moment, please send me your e-mail address or write me at ctom02@yahoo.com. Take care. Beverly, I am really doing something wrong to post to you. You are getting only half my message. My e-mail is janbolla@yahoo.com

Dear Beverly, I am so glad that you make postings. It keeps me praying where I should expend effort. I am packing for Virginia now. The Pathobiology panel awaits me. Five of my 13 proposals are expedited out. Actually, I think that it is a good thing. I hope not to get stuck in an airport somewhere re. weather or overbooking etc. I'll take a good book, a newspaper and a magazine. That should do it. I am having trouble helping a friend who thinks that her cancer is back. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1999 and was treated at Fred H. in Seattle. She paid for her own chemo as her insurance was not very good. The ACS made her a loan.I guess you had to pay upfront if chemo wasn't covered by insurance. Well, she has been unable to have any insurance since then. It is too unaffordable. She has her own little cleaning business down here on the coast. I called Mac Barnes' office. What a nightmare of telephone circles. Anyway I finally talked to a human. She said that my friend would

Hello, Bev. This is a "voice" from your past. Well, okay, not really THAT long ago. (But, have been wanting to do that ever since I was a wee one watching celebrities rekindling early memories on the show "This Is Your Life".) So, lady-with-the-new-mattress-guaranteed-to-last-for-the-next-decade-plus, you are very special and much loved by so many. Bev, we are glad that you are part of our lives and are looking forward to celebrating many more years with you! Bless our friend, Mary, for letting me know your whereabouts and what is new in your world. You have such "spunk" that it is a joy to read your pre- and post-recovery accounts. It is good to know that you are making solid progress. In a separate vein, I was distressed to read that patients still are required to pay out of pocket for chemosensitivity evaluation of cancer cells to determine the best chemotherapeutic option(s). Decisions by third-party payers not to authorize payment for this defies logic. Not on
